Shirley Hix

Shirley Henson Hix, 86, of Greer, South Carolina, passed away November 17, 2023, at her home.

A native of Greenville County, daughter of the late Violet Henson Graham, she was an employee of Leon Hix Insurance and member of Double Springs Baptist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Leon Hix of the home; two sons, Danny Hix (Teresa) and Mark Hix (Denise) all of Greer; five grandchildren, Marka Smith, David Hix (Jennifer), Casey Johnson (Travis), Laura B. Szabo (David), and Jamie Woodruff (Tim); and ten great-grandchildren, Juelz Woodruff, Violet Woodruff, Isaiah Woodruff, Dawson Szabo, Drake Szabo, Drew Szabo, Haven Johnson, Gueliana Johnson, Chloe Hix and Gowan Hix.

She was also predeceased by her grandparents, James Arthur and Pearl Jackson Henson.

Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2023, at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Rev. Keith Mincey, Rev. Bryan Stokes, and Mr. Jim Benson. Entombment followed in Hillcrest Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

The pallbearers were Jim Benson, Scott Streetman, Joey Merrell, Carroll Groce, Rev. Bryan Stokes, and Rick Vaughn.

Visitation was held from 12:30 until 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary prior to the service.

The family is at the home.
