Sue Webb

Sue Rester Webb, 89, of Greer, SC, passed away peacefully on March 10, 2021, at the Upstate Community Hospice Care facility in Landrum, SC. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Sue was the daughter of the late Leona P. and Ripley “R.E.” Rester. The eldest of five children, she is survived by her sisters Frances Morse, Etta Hicks and a brother, Gene Rester, and was preceded in death by her brother James Rester.

During her younger years, Sue was a dedicated medical and church secretary and devoted wife of over 65 years to her husband and life partner, Steve W. Webb, Jr. She was a passionate collector of all things antique and enjoyed oil painting. She was also a loving and devoted mother to her four children, who are left to cherish her memory, including: Dr. Steve W. Webb, III (wife, Kathy), Pastor Richard E. Webb (wife, Janet), Thomas P. Webb and Elizabeth A. Edwards (husband, Keith); two granddaughters, Dr. Ashley M. Webb and Dr. Chelsea W. Fox (husband, Saylor); and two great-grandsons, Waylon and Jackson Fox, who also mourn the loss of their beloved Grandma Webb.

The family wishes to express their special thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Greenville PRISMA Hospital Trauma Intensive Care Unit. The dedication and care of the medical professionals was greatly appreciated during this difficult and challenging period.

A private funeral service will be held at The Wood Mortuary. Her son, Richard, will be officiating at this memorial celebration of life. Interment will be held at M.J “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery.
