Thomas “Tommy” Junior Odom, 82, passed away suddenly at his home January 7, 2023.

A native of Greenville County, SC, born April 22, 1940, son of the late Thomas Joseph and Geneva Mae Hawkins Odom, he was the owner and operator of Odom’s Garage of Greer which he built and started in 1968 until his retirement. Tommy was a self-taught auto mechanic who specialized in transmissions and had a passion for restoring antique classic cars, car racing, and being around his peacocks and geese. Mr. Odom was of the Baptist faith, a Mason, and a Shriner.

Surviving are his daughters, Beverly Odom Taylor (Dale) and Jennifer Odom Green, both of Greer, SC; a brother, Johnny Mack Odom of Marietta, SC; sisters, Linda White, Brenda Day, and Kay May, all of Travelers Rest, SC, and Lisa Graydon of Greer, SC; grandsons, Cory Dale Taylor and David Preston Green, Jr.; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mr. Odom was predeceased by one brother and sister-in-law, Robert “Bert” and Barbara Odom; one sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth “Lib” and Bobby Hawkins; and one great-granddaughter, Bryleigh Kate Taylor.

Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Vince Gainey with webcasting available at www.thewoodmortuary.com. Burial will follow in Tyger Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at The Wood Mortuary.

Pallbearers will be Randy Hawkins, Tony Odom, Tim Odom, John Odom, Jr., Steve Yearwood, and Mark Holcombe.
