Vernie Pridmore Langford, 88, widow of John Harvey Langford, passed away July 23, 2022.

A native of Slater Marietta, daughter of the late Elmer Sims and Hester Crow Pridmore, she was a retired employee of Steel Heddle and Home Helpers, and attended Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church for 70 years.

Surviving are two daughters, Becky Pickett (Jim) of Greer and Diane Hucks (Clennon) of Greenville; six grandchildren, Jerald Hucks (Leslie), Jeanette Johnson-Watts (Elliot Smith), Rebecca Johnson, Laura Keen (Travis), Jessica Cox (Christopher), and Olivia Pickett; three great-grandchildren, Owen and Reece Hucks and Amara Watts; one daughter-in-law, Susan Johnson; and two sisters-in-law, Becky Pridmore and Eunice Pridmore; special relatives, Shelia Johnson, Dakeita Vanderburg, and Tammy Baker; many nieces and nephews who she loved dearly; and the best friends, neighbors, and church family.

Mrs. Langford was predeceased by two sons, Steve Johnson and David Johnson; one great-grandchild, Davey Johnson-Watts; as well as siblings, Doris Raines, Willie Ownbey, J.D. Pridmore (Peggy), Hackney Pridmore, Ben Pridmore (Sherry), and Walker Pridmore.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2022, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Elder Daniel Wood. A private burial will follow.

Visitation will be held noon-1:45 p.m., Monday, July 25, 2022, at The Wood Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice or to Cool Springs Primitive Baptist Church, Jamie Cox, 177 River Road, Marietta, SC 29661.
