Well known and much-beloved attorney, Family Court Judge, and specially appointed Circuit Judge, Benny R. Greer, age 88, died March 29, 2014 after a long illness, at his home in Darlington, South Carolina, surrounded by his family.
Annie Belle Cape Dilworth, 89, of South McElhaney Road, Greer, was welcomed into her heavenly home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and her beloved husband of 57 years, G.W. Dilworth, on April 10, 2014. She was born on December 28, 1924 to the late Cleve and May Bell Cape but lived most of her life in Upstate.

James Theron Hawkins Sr. (Hawk), of Panama City Beach, Fla. passed away at his home March 26, 2014.
Mr. Hawkins was born March 17, 1951 and grew up in Greer. He was an outstanding athlete, played football for Troy State University and completed his Master’s in Education in 1977.

John Arthur Mengel, 82, of 108 Derby Trail, Greer, died March 17, 2014 at his home.
A native of Syracuse, N.Y., son of the late John Stephen and Margaret Zigler Mengel, he was a retired employee of General Electric after 24 years of service and a U.S. Air Force Veteran.
