A native of Greer, daughter of the late Jim and Dot Perry, she was a retired realtor, avid golfer and spent many years as a volunteer for the Guardian Ad Litem Program.

Gearline E. “Geri” Groves, 86, Greer, SC, formerly of St. Augustine, died September 26, 2017 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. She was born in St. Augustine and resided here until 1994 when she moved to Greer, SC. She was a former tour guide at Potters Wax Museum for many years.

Carolyn Boyd McKinney, 99, widow of Marshall Eugene “Red” McKinney, passed away September 30, 2017 at Brushy Creek Rehab and Healthcare.

A native of Chester County, she was a daughter of the late James Thompson Boyd and Celeste McKeown Boyd, a homemaker and member of First Presbyterian Church Greer.

A native of Greer, South Carolina, Avery was a special person and was loved by all that knew him. He was predeceased by his parents, Harry Avery Parker Sr. and Virginia Smith Parker of Greer.

Louie William Wooten, 83, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2017. He was the son of the late Beauford and Lillian Morris Wooten and the husband of Sarah Lindsey Wooten of fifty-nine years.

He was an original member of Faith Temple Pentecostal Holiness and retired from J.P. Stevens after thirty years of service.

Betty Clayton Herman departed this life on September 11, 2017 to join her beloved husband of 57 years, William (Bill) Herman in heaven. Betty was born on October 15, 1933 to the late Sherman and Julia Clayton and was a lifelong resident of the Greer area. She was preceded in death by her husband Bill and sister Beatrice Hammett.
