The Greer Commission of Public Works (CPW) and the Greer Police Department will host a drug take back day from 10 a.m to 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, to prevent pill abuse and theft by getting rid of potentially dangerous expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.

Assault on an officer
On Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, Michael A. Roberts of Greer was riding his bicycle on the side of North Hwy 25 when he entered into a lane of traffic and was struck by a tractor-trailer.
He was air lifted to Mission Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
