Early morning on Wednesday, June 21, the Greer Fire Department (GFD) responded to a residential structure fire at 126 Cosmos Lane in Greer.
Around 5:08 a.m., GFD, along with Pelham Batesville, Tyger River, and Boiling Springs fire departments were dispatched to the incident and started arriving on scene 10 minutes later.
A Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) investigator suffered minor injuries during a traffic stop near the city/county line.
Artis Rajae Cook-Carter, 21, of Spartanburg, was arrested and charged with seven offenses.

On Thursday, June 15, Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies responded to a car chase that ended with an arrest.
Scott Brent Davis, 36, of Inman, was arrested by SCSO and charged with 12 offenses which accumulated from an approximate 10-mile car chase.

Sunday morning around 10 a.m., the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) responded to a stabbing at the Spinx convenience store on The Parkway.
Deputies with GCSO charged Frank Arthur Lawson, 62, with Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime.
The Boy Scouts of America, North Spartanburg Fire District, and the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office have come together to teach a program called the Explorer Program.
The program will provide an avenue for young adults, ages 14 to 20, to explore and learn about their chosen careers.
