Bazaar, hot dog sale
The Duncan-Startex-Loree United Methodist Charge will have its annual Bazaar/hot dog sale on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Duncan UMC, 139 W. Main St., Duncan.
As the holidays approach, there are many families who can’t afford a regular, nutritious meal – let alone a holiday meal with all of the trimmings. Times may be tough, but churches like Calvary Chapel of Greer are striving to make things a little bit easier for these families during the holidays.

William and Lea Johnson of Piedmont received a text message from Afghanistan on Thursday, prompting the couple to head to Greer for Greer Community Ministries’ (GCM) Big Thursday live auction. Lea’s father, Bryan, asked his daughter to bid on a 2003 white Jeep Grand Cherokee that was listed in the auction items.

Suber Road Baptist Church will be hosting a movie night for the community on Friday, at 7 p.m. to feature the movie “Stuck,” a documentary focusing on international orphans who get “stuck” in all of the red tape families have to go through in order to adopt them.
