Ruth Elizabeth Smith Barton, 97, widow of Theron Earle Barton, died Dec. 5, 2008 at National Health Care Mauldin.
A native of Greer, daughter of the late Lee Greene and Leila Byrd Mitchell Smith, she was a retired employee of Greenville County schools and a member of Taylors First Baptist Church.
