Tigers to take on Emerald

After an overtime victory at Berea, the Blue Ridge Fighting Tigers (2-3, 1-1) hope to carry over energy and determination to take on the Emerald Vikings (3-2) this Friday at home.

Blue Ridge head coach Shane Clark said while his team let Berea back into the game, they still showed what they were made of in emerging victorious.

Riverside stuggled against Spartanburg last Friday on the road. The Warriors will face Boiling Springs this week.

Winless through the first five games, Riverside is hoping to switch things up a bit in week six as they take on Boiling Springs.

With several new starters at key positions on offense, the Warriors are hoping to have the same sort of success they had last year against Boiling Springs.

Byrnes knocked off rival Gaffney 28-14 Friday night at Nixon Field, picking up its first region win of the season and improving to 4-0.

The rivalry was featured as part of the Great American Rivalry Series, presented by the United States Marine Corps.

Jackets induct three into HOF

Greer High inducted three former athletes into its Hall of Fame last Friday night, honoring the new class at halftime of the Yellow Jacket’s football game against Emerald.

The class consists of Daniel Palka, Chandler Hash and honorary inductee Carlton Greene, who spent 25 seasons coaching basketball at Greer.
