The Blue Ridge boys’ and girls’ basketball teams hosted Riverside on Tuesday (results were not available at press time), and will travel to Eastside on Friday to open the region schedule.

The North Greenville men’s basketball team shot 52.6 percent from the floor, holding Truett McConnell College to just 39 percent in an 85-61 victory over the Bears last Saturday night.
Truett McConnell jumped out to an early 6-2 lead in the opening minutes of play before the North Greenville offense was able to get on track.

A veteran starting five has been leading the way early for the Riverside boys’ basketball team, which has stormed out to 5-2 start.
With a group full of seniors, Riverside coach Greg Miller said there should be no lack of leadership this season for the Warriors.

Former Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice has announced a new profession in recent days -- time traveler -- and it’s just as well, since he has about as good a chance landing that gig as he does another running back job this year.
