Chapman splattered like a bug hitting a windshield Friday night when the Panthers ran head-on into Greer’s defense that paved the way for an eighth straight win. The Yellow Jackets’ usual suspects continued to make big plays on offense in the 47-10 triumph, but the defense stole the show.

Eastside’s homecoming was spoiled by Berea running back Stevie Williams, who exposed the Eagles defense last Friday night, racking up 340 rushing yards on more than 33 carries.

Eastside fell to the Bulldogs, 32-20, dropping its fifth straight region game. With the loss, the Eagles move to 1-7 on the year.

It has been a year of “firsts” for the Riverside Warriors and the team is hoping to continue that Friday night.

Riverside has never won back-to-back Region II-AAAA games, but head coach Phil Smith believes his guys have a good chance against J.L. Mann if they continue to play and practice hard.
