A roll of the dice in overtime gave Riverside its first ever Region II-AAAA victory last Thursday night.

The Warriors defeated Boiling Springs 15-14 as Ryan Cerino found Emanuel Jackson on a go-ahead two-point conversion with no time remaining.
It was Riverside’s second win of the season.

Riverside’s fate rested in one pass last Thursday night against Boiling Springs. Fortunately for the Warriors, Emanuel Jackson was there to haul it in, giving the team its first ever Region II-AAAA victory.

Because of his performance, Jackson has earned Offensive Player of the Week honors from The Greer Citizen and Owens Insurance.

Bruton fuels Greer victory

Sycchaeus Bruton and the Greer defense held Eastside to just 19 points last Friday, fueling the Yellow Jackets to their sixth win of the season.

For his performance, Bruton earned Defensive Player of the Week honors from The Greer Citizen and Owens Insurance.

Greer is coming off a dominating 70-19 victory over Eastside, but head coach Will Young said his 6-0 team will have to be ready for anything this week.

Coming off their second loss of the season, the Tigers are preparing to rebound against Travelers Rest.

Blue Ridge coach Shane Clark will be watching to see how his team responds to its first region loss of the year this Friday against Travelers Rest.

The Tigers are coming off a 14-6 loss to Emerald, which marks the team’s second loss of the season.

Clark said his team doesn’t know exactly what to expect from the 0-6 Devildogs.

Byrnes is hoping to cut back on the turnovers this week as they take on Riverside at Nixon Field. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Friday.

Byrnes will be hoping for a less sloppy performance this Friday against Riverside, after turning the ball over multiple times during last week’s win.

Head coach Brian Lane said his guys will need to be ready for a Warrior team that is much improved.
